MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Wednesday October 16th, 2019

Student Vote - Reminder to look at the political party websites to help you decide who to vote for on Friday. The Rhinoceros Party is not on the ballot this time, but maybe the Unicorn Party or the Bolshevik Party is. How will you know without doing some research?

WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES
Ok Secord, you asked for it, you got it! Our first Grade War is up and running. Our Grade 9's had the most donations yesterday for our Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Fundraiser for Gillian's Place which will happen this Friday at lunch. Grade 9's were in the lead for money raised up until the last few minutes of lunch, when the Grade 11's took the lead in cash donations. Where are our Grade 12's! Grade 10's? Our grade  11 male teachers are anxiously awaiting the delivery of their new pink high heels, which they will proudly wear and strut their stuff...only if we have enough money to back them. Check out the donation table today at lunch in the MAIN FOYER near the front office. Let's go Secord! Help support Gillian's Place!

Every year Laura Secord students participate in a commemoration of the sacrifice endured by Canadians and people around the world during times of war and conflict. An important component of our assembly is the slideshow featuring photos of loved ones of students and staff members who served. Ask your family about who saw action or were affected by war in your family tree. Send photos to Mr. Williamson for inclusion in our program. Last year’s slideshow will be linked to our website. Be sure to check it out.
